"For me art is a way of thinking, feeling, perceiving and sharing. I am fascinated with the textures, forms and colors of our natural environment. Capturing the essence of places and experiences gives me never ending inspiration for creative endeavors.
I express my art mostly through 2D visual images - drawing and painting. My interest in composition and textural qualities are evident in my work.
My graphite drawings tend to be quite detailed and realistic. I enhance the "realistic" qualities of my style of drawing by subtly exaggerating visual qualities.
My paintings are moving to a more simplistic, abstracted presentation. Although still realistic, my emphasis is more on the color and textures inherent in the composition than in its subject matter. This trend pleases the painter in me.
I look forward to new artistic challenges as I extend myself to develop the media I presently enjoy and to incorporate new techniques yet to be honed."
