"Most of my formative years were spent along the coastline of southern Maine. The sound of crashing waves and smell of salty air draw me back to that beloved place, where the creation and renewal process occurs daily. I am intrigued by water, its movement, how light affects it, by the reflections it offers, and the view, through its transparent state, to what lies beneath. With all these perspectives, water offers endless opportunities to paint."

"I also enjoy painting people. I studied oil portraiture with Carol Somers in California. Painting in a traditional, yet painterly style, I find it a challenge to capture a certain expression or gesture, something that tells a story about that person.
I look for that thing of beauty, that unique quality in a subject, and then compose, consider color and values, and finally bring my own experience as an artist into my work, striving after excellence with each canvas.
