Gloria is a self-taught Mexican American artist and garden enthusiast who has been painting for over 20 years. She frequently portrays fruit, flowers and birds in her work. Painting the flowers and foods, the literal fruits of her labor, that sure nurtures tediously in her garden, she says is a reward to her that makes everything worthwhile. Gloria loves nature, and has a particular affection for birds. She enjoys bird-watching and is always excited to wait for the variety of birds that visit her yard. These, she loves to capture in new works that she can feel proud of.
And whenever she gets the chance to travel with her family to distant adventures, she likes to seize the opportunity and paint other gardens, places, and animals from her travels. Speaking about these opportunities, she says: "Getting to experience something new always inspires creativity that preserves the moments I am most thankful for."
