A solo exhibit by Linda Warshaw
Linda Warshaw is primarily a 2D artist who favors acrylic, pen & ink and mixed media, though she has been known to dabble in sculpture as well. Though she is best known for her illustrations and cartoons, especially those featuring horses , birds and nature, she is doing something special and new for this show. Linda writes:
"My show, "Size Matters” was inspired by my fascination with quantum mechanics, the physics of the very small, the sub-atomic world. [...] My readings in quantum mechanics led me into Fractal Art, the Fibonacci Numbers and the work of contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama. I saw connections between these subjects and my readings a sort of melding of art & science.
The result is a show that dallies between the 2D and 3D, the manipulation of colors, shapes, sizes and repetition of objects. My imagination and my responses to my readings helped create these pieces."
This fascinating exhibit opens September 4th.
